The Yohimbe Brothers once again deliver their eclectic blend of rock, DJ mixing, rap lyrics, and other elements ... The duo, whose name is based loosely on an African herbal aphrodisiac, consists of guitarist Vernon Reid (Living Colour, Vernon Reid & Masque) and turntablist DJ Logic (The Anomaly). Their fertile collaboration began in 2002 with their well-received debut Front End Lifter, and the new music continues on the same path of experimentation with a modern trans-cultural and urban blend. -- All About Jazz With his group Yohimbe Brothers, guitarist Vernon Reid (ex-Living Colour) joins forces with his New York buddy DJ Logic to create a fusion sound at the crossroads of funk, rap, and Latino rhythms. The film challenges the image/sound relationship using a VJ technique (in postproduction) that recreates the conditions of live multi-cam and treats each song with specific graphics animation. This DVD is part of the Freedom Now collection. Each film was shot on location at a performance at the Banlieues Bleues Festival, and total freedom was given to the directors, whose films challenge the conservative codes of shooting musical performances.
